Moshe Satt

Moshe (Mo) Satt is the Chief Information Security Officer for the Department of Sanitation of the City of New York, and an incoming NYU PhD student who has dedicated his career to enhancing the quality of life and public safety for all New Yorkers. From 2018 to 2020, he served as CISO of the Fire Department for the City of New York (FDNY) where he was in charge of maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the information and public safety systems of the nation’s largest fire department. Prior posts included several years as a civilian member of the New York City Police Department (NYPD) for which he oversaw delivery of a real-time, secure 911 mobile response platform, and managing the Public Safety Cybersecurity Operations and Engineering at the New York City Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications (DoITT).

A graduate of the Bridge to Tandon program, Moshe completed his M.S in Cybersecurity at Tandon, earning an Academic Achievement Award for achieving a GPA of 3.93. He is a graduate of the FBI Citizens Academy and holds CCISO, CISSP, CC, Security+, MCSA, and CISM certifications. He currently serves as an adjunct professor of computer science at NYU Tandon, teaching Application Security, Network Security, and Computer Security/Information Security & Privacy at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
