The final round of the Hack3D Summer Challenge will be the centerpiece of a special symposium examining the “growth of the new area of digital manufacturing” to be held Friday, July 15 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.EDT. Framing presentations from the competition finalists, which will begin at 11 a.m., will be talks by a number of academic and industry leaders in the field, including:

Nikolaus L. Cordes (Los Alamos National Laboratory)
Danny Huang (New York University)
Ye Wang (Autodesk)
Chris Adkins (Identify3D)
Guha Manogharan (The Pennsylvania State University)
The program will also include presentations by two of the Challenge organizers, Dr. Hammond Pearce, who will talk about “Attacks on Additive Manufacturing” and Ph.D. candidate Gary Mac, who will talk about the competition and the manufacturing security challenges it represents.
The winners of the competition will be announced at 2:30 p.m. In addition to the immediate cash prizes, which range from $750 for first place to $250 for 3rd place, the students in the winners circle will have the option to proceed to the CSAW’22 Hack3D Fall Finals.
Presentations will be evaluated by Chrys Koomson of Northrop Grumman, Priyanka Mahesh of Twitter, and Ye Wang of Autodesk.
