Damon McCoy

Professor of Computer Science and Engineering, NYU Tandon and Co-Director of NYU's Center for Cybersecurity

Damon McCoy is a Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at New York University’s Tandon School of Engineering, and Co-Director of the school’s Center for Cybersecurity. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Colorado, Boulder. He is a member of the Center for Automotive Embedded Systems Security (CAESS), which conducted one of the first security analysis of a modern automobile. He is also co-director of the Cybersafety Research Center, a CCS-affiliated lab that conducts “cutting-edge computer science research to better understand the distorting effects of algorithms and AI tools on large online networks and how they affect safety, public health, and democracy.”
