Meghna Manoj Nair is a Computer Science Ph.D. candidate in the Privacy, Security & Automation Lab of NYU’s Center for Cybersecurity, working under the direction of Dr. Rachel Greenstadt. She completed her undergraduate studies in computer science at Vellore Institute of Technology in India, graduating as the 2nd rank holder in her department. She then went on to earn her M.S. in Computer Science at NYU. Her research focuses on privacy, security, and responsible AI, with a focus on how organizations govern sensitive data and how threats emerge on online platforms. Nair recently led a mixed-methods study on EdTech data governance that combined expert interviews, a privacy-policy audit, and threat modeling benchmarked against COPPA, FERPA, and DPDPA. She has also contributed to research on governance accountability gaps in open-source software ecosystems. A recipient of the Generation Google Scholarship for Women in Computer Science, Nair currently serves as Doctoral Programming Coordinator for the Graduate Student Council at NYU Tandon.
