Judith Germano, a Senior Fellow at the Reiss Center on Law and Security and an Adjunct Professor of Law at both the NYU School of Law and the NYU Stern School of Business, has taken over the reins as co-director of NYU’s Center for Cybersecurity. Serving alongside Professor Damon McCoy of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at NYU Tandon. Germano will be representing the legal and policy side of the Center’s blended mission.
Germano, who is also a Distinguished Fellow at the NYU Center for Cybersecurity (CCS) and an internationally-recognized thought leader on cybersecurity governance and privacy issues, has previously served CCS in a number of capacities, including founding and overseeing the Women Leaders in Cybersecurity series, and leading the CCS Cybersecurity Leaders Roundtable series in which corporate executives and senior government officials address critical cybersecurity concerns.
A BS graduate from Cornell University, and a merit scholar recipient of a JD from St. John’s University School of Law, Germano is also is the founder of GermanoLaw LLC, which advises public and privately-held companies and executives on enterprise risk management, cybersecurity and privacy matters, securities fraud and other complex white-collar criminal and regulatory compliance issues. Previously she served as Chief of Economic Crimes at the US Attorney’s Office for the District of New Jersey. A member of the Board of Directors of Dime Community Bancshares, Inc. (Nasdaq: DCOM), Germano also serves on the Enterprise Risk, Strategic Planning, and Credit Risk committees.
