CSAW returns to Brooklyn, NY, and four other geographic sites around the globe from November 6-9. Now beginning its third decade, the 2024 edition of the world’s most comprehensive student-run cybersecurity event will feature a full slate of competitions, including a new look policy challenge focused on software product and service liability, and the need for standards and best practices in secure software development (Brooklyn, NY only), and an extension of the BioHack 3D competition to a new site: CSAW India.
At the Brooklyn site, formal events open on Thursday, November 7, with the Industry Speaker series from 9 a.m. to Noon. Other activities on this day will include the kickoff of the 36-hour Capture the Flag competition, a Cybersecurity Career Fair, the Hack3D competition, and the Google NYC Cyberlab Poster Session.
Friday is competition day across the CSAW landscape, with all five event sites running a variety of activities that test skill in both attacking and defending computer software and hardware. In Brooklyn, the competitions will include the finals of the Embedded Security Challenge, Hack 3D, the Applied Research, Cyber Policy, AI Hardware Attack (AHA) Challenge and the LLM Hardware Attack Challenge,
