A team of NYU Cyber Fellows was recognized for their achievements in the 2019 Department of Energy CyberForce competition, held at Brookhaven National Laboratory, in Upton, New York, from November 15-16. The team was one of seven East Coast schools that competed against each other and against teams located at nine other DOE labs across the country. When the results were tallied, NYU Tandon’s Cyber Raptors placed 35th overall out of 104 nationwide teams, and 3rd out of the northeast regional teams competing onsite. During the competition, the Raptors took part in a number of interactive, scenario-based events that test knowledge and awareness of cybersecurity methods, practices, strategy, policy, and ethics.
